Well, we’ve been having a grand ol’ time playing music for you fine folks over the past few weeks. I decided to add a new song to the set for this tour - to spice things up a bit. I mean…with a tour name like ‘Summer Lovin’, you’ve got to have a few tricks up your sleeves. It’s an upbeat jam about a girl that you know is gonna break your heart, but you can’t do anything about it because you’re so infatuated by her. Ever been there before?
This video was taken by one of you at our show in Charlotte last Saturday night at the Evening Muse. Obviously, we were having a good time that night, sharing new & old songs with the fine folks of the Queen City. I’d love to hear your thoughts about the jam. Self-doubt can be one of the most crippling things. It’s easy to listen to the voices of others & the ones inside your own head - the one’s that speak what you know to be a lie, “You’re not good enough.” “Just quit so that you don’t make a fool of yourself.” “Give up the fight because there is no way that you can win or even come out alive.”
As an independent artist, I have consistently waged a war in my mind over what are healthy thoughts and what aren’t. Often, discouragement has swept in like a thief in the night, stealing what I know to be true & telling me that what I’ve set out to do is impossible.
So this song is personal for me - it was the moment that I told myself, “I will not believe the lies.” Giving up is not an option. Write songs and share them with my friends. Follow through in what you know to be true - in your heart.

Most of my favorite recordings were made in the 60s and 70s, in a time where studio technology was still quite limited. Back then, true record-making geniuses recorded moments that not only captured the “life” in the room, but also sounded shockingly “larger than life,” especially given the limitations of their technology.
I’ve always been very inspired by this concept—there’s something about how the brain works when it is faced with limitations—it becomes more alive and awake—the creative side is challenged, and suddenly forced to come up with truly great ideas

Good morning, folks! I hope everyone’s week is off to a fabulous start. For this Tuesday Treat, I thought I’d share an acoustic/live recording of ‘Make Up Your Mind’ from my show at Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta back in December. I haven’t played too many acoustic shows recently. So when I get the chance to strip it back, I have been really enjoying it. Perhaps, I’ll put together an acoustic tour not too far down the line. Just me and these ol’ keys. ha

‘Fool’ - Nathan Angelo (a song for April Fool’s Day)
I just realized that I have another ‘holiday song’. It all started with September 22nd, becoming it’s own self-proclaimed holiday. Now, we have another NA day in early April. It’s a bit more sober of a holiday than 9.22, but perhaps, it will be a nice change of pace to all the joke-sters who find it funny to make you feel like a fool on this particular day. ha

The music preview for this Tuesday is a tune that I needed to write for myself. I realized that at certain points with particularly girls I had trouble getting over them. At the same time, it bothered me that I hadn’t, and I wanted to - once and for all. So I decided to write a ‘getting over you’ anthem for all of us. I hope you enjoy it!

‘Born To Love You’ - Nathan Angelo
Well, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. I’ve got to be honest: Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday. But with that being said, I do think that taking the time out to tell the person that you care for, put up with, stay with for no apparent reason or love is very important - and even critical to a romantic relationship. So if that’s what you’re making the holiday about, I applaud you, and I can certainly see the upside of such a day.
Anyways, I joke and like to dance on the pessimistic side of love, but I’m here to announce: I DO BELIEVE IN LOVE. This song should be a clear picture of that - a window into my soul. I hope you enjoy!
